| The aggregate results for Allen County are summarized below. This data was calculated by CRI based on the individual school data reported in the Indiana Department of Education web site (see Caveat box below for link instructions). The data and charts for each school for students taking the AP test, and the percent scoring a 3, 4, or 5 are summarized in Success by 6: Condition of Children Web Site. |
 |
During this time period, the percentage of students taking the AP test increased from 9.7 percent of all 11 and 12th graders to 13 percent, while the percent of those scoring a 3 or better dropped from 58.9 percent in 2000/01 to 52.3 percent in 2004/05. |
Note: Only Public Schools are included in the aggregate calculations.
IN 2000/01, Heritage is excluded from the calculations, and in 2004/05 Carroll is excluded due to lack of available data. |

The statistics are for
students who actually take an advanced placement test. Not all students who
register for an Advanced Placement (AP) class and receive high school credit
take the AP test. Even without the taking the AP test, the student will still
receive rewards in the form of motivation
and challenge, the advantage of an AP
designation on the course transcripts, as well as preparation for future college
courses. The College Board has 31 courses, including such areas as foreign language,
math, science, and economics.
