Calculated Student to Teacher Ratio, Allen County Aggregate by School
Magnet Schools
4 Star Schools
Title I Schools

A frequently sought indicator is the ratio of the number of students per teacher, but this could become a complex process. Some schools have music, art, science, physical education, reading, and basic skills teachers, not to mention classes and/or teachers for mildly mental disability, emotional disability, learning disability, gifted and talented, etc.

For the elementary schools, there is the reported average class size as given in the school's Annual Performance Report (APR) as well as the students-to-teacher ratio given in the School Profile. Both of these, the APR and the School Profile, are available on the Indiana Department of Education Web Site. For instructions to get to these pages, see the Caveat section below. A difference between these two numbers would probably indicate the presence of the subject specific or skills teachers listed above. Class size for schools other than the elementary level are not listed on the APR. If further information is needed, a review of the teacher roster by school on the Indiana Department of Education web site would provide specific information on the classes taught.

The Success By 6 "Condition of Children" Web Site provides the 2005/06 enrollment and the calculated STUDENTS/TEACHER RATIO as well as REPORTED AVERAGE CLASS SIZE .

The pupil to teacher ratio (not class size, but includes all teachers within the school) for all public schools (elementary, middle, junior-senior high, and high school) in Allen County is shown below for each school corporation, as well as county totals.
